Nortel patents: Google is declared “disappointed”

the giant of research commented on the exit of the biddings for the 6.000 Nortel patents gained by a consortium made up of Apple, EMC, Ericsson, Microsoft, RIM and Sony.

“This result is disappointing for whoever believes that the open innovation is beneficial to the users and supports the creativity and competition. We will continue to work to reduce the flood of litigations related to the patents which assign at the same time the innovators and the consumers”.

Here is the official declaration addressed to the press by Google at the end of the biddings for the wallet of Nortel patents.

Awkward competitors

Whereas it left favorite with an offer 900 million dollars retained like amount of reference, the giant of Mountain View was made blow the spoils by a consortium made up of Apple, EMC, Ericsson, Microsoft, RIM and Sony which offered 4,5 billion dollars.
